Thank you for your interest in the MnTAP intern program. The Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP) seeks junior or senior college students to work on waste reduction, water conservation, lean manufacturing, and energy efficiency projects at companies in Minnesota each summer.

MnTAP plans to support up to 15 projects in 2024 at locations around the state. Individual projects are hosted at separate companies and cover a variety of industries.

  • Project descriptions for the 2024 Intern Program will be posted as they are confirmed, typically in late-February or early March. Check back periodically for new postings.

2024 Projects

Collins Aerospace, Burnsville MN – Lead a project focused on energy efficiency.

Donaldson Company, Inc., Bloomington, MN – Lead a project focused on energy efficiency at an industrial filtration manufacturer.

Lakeside Foods, Owatonna, MN – Lead a project focused on waste diversion, wastewater loading reduction, and water
conservation at a food manufacturing facility.

Liberty Paper Inc., Becker, MN – Lead a project focused on water conservation and reduction of landfill waste at a recycled linerboard manufacturer.

Michael Foods, Chaska, MN – Lead a project focused on water conservation, wastewater loading reduction, and energy efficiency at a food manufacturing facility.

MN Department of Administration, Office of Enterprise Sustainability, Remote (some in-person/travel, see description) – Lead a project focused on water conservation at state facilities.

Niron Magnetics, Minneapolis, MN – Lead a project focused on green chemistry for a materials technology company.

Puris, Dawson, MN – Lead a project focused on water conservation and energy efficiency.
