Jon Vanyo

Jon joined MnTAP in 2014.  He is a senior engineer specializing in energy efficiency, water conservation, and wastewater treatment optimization.  In 2021, his team was awarded the Minnesota Section Resource Recovery and Energy Excellence Award for their work in driving nutrient treatment and energy efficiency in the State of Minnesota.

Jon values efficiency, environment, and empathy, which aligns well with his work at MnTAP.  He partners with industry to implement process efficiency projects which protect the environment.

Prior to MnTAP, Jon achieved a dual Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering degree from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This background allowed him to strengthen his analytical skills, which prove useful in identifying opportunities and solutions during resource conservation assessments.  

In his free time, Jon enjoys hiking, music, reading, and frisbee. He has reached the summit of 17 state high points.
