In a rapidly changing workplace where no
one day is the same, Paul Pagel has always managed to stay

Practical environmental experience coupled
with an insider's sensitivity to business make Paul good at
addressing individual client needs. With his previous experience
at Nordic Ware, a St. Louis Park cookware manufacturer, and
his knowledge of pollution prevention techniques, Paul helps
each business find a solution that works for them. Nordic
Ware's continued contact with Paul is testament to the quality
of his work.
Paul is currently work with clients to streamline
techniques for painting and wood finishing, Paul points out
that greater efficiency leads to lower emissions and easier
compliance with environmental rules.
Specific issues that Paul deals with include
the reduction of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
These compounds are contained in many solvent based paints.
Paul's daily routine includes responding
to client inquiries, and visiting companies. "Pagel is
a good source of information," says Dennis Bjorn of Crestliner.
Paul's favorite task is working on site with clients to help
reduce and manage waste.
Paul says that working for MnTAP has kept
him at the technological forefront of his field. His job gives
him the opportunity to keep pace with industry advances and
innovations. His experience helps Paul find working solutions
for Minnesota business.
Paul's motivation is highlighted by his
participation in the Twin Cities' chapter of the Chemical
Coaters Association International. Paul has been instrumental
in the organization of the Minnesota Paint and Powder Coating
Expo. In 2002 this event provided over 400 finishers with
the latest information on quality and efficiency for industrial
coating. Starting as a small event in 1993, this regional
expo has grown into a successful enterprise with Paul's effort.
