Not having the financial resources
to implement projects can be a barrier to pollution
prevention. The following resources, including grant
and loan programs, may provide you the financial assistance
you need to make improvements in your facility.
Grants
Environmental
Grants The Minnesota
Pollution Control Agency makes funds
available to businesses and organizations in Minnesota
for environmental projects that meet one of its priority
strategic goals.
Grants.gov
allows organizations to electronically find and apply
for grants from all 26 Federal grant-making agencies.
Enterprise Minnesota under the Growth Acceleration Program (GAP) manufacturers with fewer than 100 employees can receive up to $25,000 per year toward projects intended to enhance the operation of a small manufacturing, manufacturing-related, or service company. The business must match any GAP money awarded.

Environmental
Assistance Loan Program The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), Technology, Education and Assistance Division is partnering with lending institutions
to offer loans for half the prevailing interest rate
to purchase market-ready pollution prevention technologies.
Fifty percent of the loan funds are supplied by the
lending institution at market rate and the remaining
half is supplied by the MPCA at zero percent. Contact

Minneapolis
Department of Community Planning and Economic Development
(CPED) Minneapolis business owners looking for financial
assistance to start or expand your business can get
assistance with financing. CPED helps Minneapolis businesses
locate affordable business financing. Several low interest
loan
programs are available.
Ramsey
County Business Loan Program Ramsey County offers
gap financing to for-profit commercial, industrial or
service start ups or expanding businesses located in
or moving to Ramsey County. Loans may be made for capital
equipment.
Small
Business Development Loan Program Department of
Employment and Economic Development (DEED). For established
manufacturers with fixed asset expansion costs in excess
of $1 million and adding a substantial number of new
jobs. Through industrial development bonds, the Agricultural
and Economic Development Board can support a loan at
below market interest rates. DEED also sponsors other
financial assistance programs.
Small
Business Environmental Improvement Loan Program
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Small Business Ombudsman.
The MPCA offers this loan program as a means to help
small businesses help themselves with environmental
projects.
- Fiberglass Fabricators used the loan program to purchase nonatomized equipment to replace spray equipment in open mold process and added raw material monitoring equipment.
U.S. Small Business Administration
The SBA offers numerous financing programs for small

Energy Loans and Rebates
Many energy utilities offer energy loans and rebates
to meet their Conservation Improvement Programs.
