We all want the places where we live and the places where we go for care to be healthy. Yet, because the US regulatory system is frequently inadequate to provide sufficient oversight and testing of chemicals, often, toxics are used in products in our homes and in products in healthcare facilities. Some of these chemicals, for example, antibacterials, formaldehyde, halogenated flame retardants and phthalates are known to be carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxicants or, are corrosive, are irritants, or can damage skin and organs in both humans and animals. They can be released into the air, water and the environment during manufacture, transportation and use. Safer, healthier and economical products are available.
Please join us for our winter fete to learn how to identify products of concern and how designers, environmental services/facility staff, nursing, supply chain and you can identify, purchase and use less toxic products for health in your facility, home and the environment.
Healthy, organic appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
